Description:

Supabase is an Open Source and fully remote company building developer tools for databases.
The company is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to manage the infrastructure of their Postgres databases.
Supabase currently manages over 1 million Postgres instances and is experiencing rapid growth.
The SRE will help build the Supabase Postgres offering and focus on improving the reliability of database backups and recovery.
Responsibilities include implementing high availability with minimal downtime failover and operationalizing database management for users through maintenance windows and blue-green deployments.
The role involves enhancing database observability to help users self-serve debug their databases and improving the performance of provisioned Postgres databases.
The SRE will work on system architecture improvements to reduce costs while balancing security and performance.
Designing CI/CD systems to speed up deployments with proper change and release management processes is also a key responsibility.
The SRE will resolve escalated support issues and identify systemic issues across the platform.

Requirements:

Candidates must have experience in designing multi-tenant database solutions, focusing on failover, fault-tolerance, and disaster recovery.
Experience with orchestrating stateful workloads at scale or using a Postgres operator like those from Zalando or Crunchy is a plus.
Familiarity with tools in the Postgres ecosystem such as pgbackrest, barman, Patroni, and Stolon is required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Cloud Infrastructure is necessary.
Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in building applications with Golang.
Experience in managing large deployments on AWS is essential.
Knowledge of networking is required.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools is also necessary.
