Description:
Uptime.com is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to assist in constructing dependable and resilient software solutions for clients.
The role involves remote work and collaboration with a skilled team of engineers to monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, deploy code changes, and ensure optimal customer experience.
Responsibilities include designing and managing cloud-based systems on AWS, implementing scalability and redundancy measures, automated provisioning and deployment, monitoring system reliability, ensuring security against cyber threats, incident management, collaboration with teams, and continuous learning and improvement.
Requirements:
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred but not required).
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or DevOps roles.
Demonstrated experience in designing and managing highly available, scalable systems in a cloud environment, specifically AWS.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Linux Administration and scripting languages like Python.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Knowledge of modern scripting languages, microservices architecture, cloud services (AWS), configuration management tools, and automated provisioning/deployment tools.
Operational Skills:
Practice defensive coding, monitoring and reliability tools, incident management, and security best practices.
Soft Skills:
Strong collaboration and communication skills, ability to thrive in a remote work environment, commitment to continuous improvement.
