Description:

  • Granicus is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Site Reliability Engineer (SRE 1) to join their dynamic IT team.
  • The role involves working closely with software engineers to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of services.
  • Responsibilities include using Granicus applications to understand their impact on government and citizen interaction, owning escalated issues reported by customers and internal teams, and troubleshooting application, service, and system issues both independently and collaboratively.
  • The SRE will document and escalate user stories, bugs, and defects, establish and maintain SLI, SLO, and SLA targets for applications and services, and use software development best practices to automate solutions and eliminate toil.
  • The position also requires providing on-call production support and ensuring Granicus information security by preserving the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets.

Requirements:

  • A basic understanding of Linux/Unix systems, networking, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is required.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby is necessary.
  • Exposure to monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Elastic, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk), version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines is expected.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues are essential.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, along with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • An eagerness to learn new technologies and improve existing skills, as well as openness to receiving feedback, is important.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Software Engineering role is required.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer, or similar are preferred.
