Jackbox Games is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with Go experience to join their remote team.
The company is a small game studio known for the Jackbox Party Pack franchise, which includes popular games like Quiplash and Trivia Murder Party.
The role involves maintaining AWS-based infrastructure, focusing 70% of the time on SRE responsibilities and 30% on application development in Go.
Key responsibilities include architecting high-availability systems, automating infrastructure provisioning, improving observability, leading incident response, developing automated testing frameworks, optimizing system performance, mentoring team members, and developing backend applications in Go.
The position also involves building tools to streamline SRE workflows, supporting CI/CD workflows, and participating in code reviews and documentation.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or similar roles with AWS-based infrastructure experience.
Strong skills in Go, with experience in backend applications and tools, are required.
Proficiency with core AWS services, including ECS, EC2, and S3, is necessary.
Hands-on experience with ECS and Terraform for managing infrastructure as code is essential.
Experience with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, and/or Grafana for observability and alerting is required.
Proven experience in setting up and managing automated testing frameworks for release reliability is needed.
Candidates should be skilled in scripting (Go, Python, or Bash) for automation and operational efficiency.
A proven ability to guide and develop peers’ expertise in SRE and DevOps best practices is necessary.

The pay range for this position is $103,326 - $190,465, with compensation packages based on individual factors.
