Description:
The Software Architect at Apptegy will work with the Product and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into scalable specifications, designs, and user stories.
Responsibilities include supporting product leaders in creating high-level product specifications, collaborating with the engineering team to develop user stories, designing data models with performance and integrity in mind, and working on backend services using Ruby on Rails.
The Architect will also collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to integrate solutions with backend services and frontend applications, produce architectural design documents, and assist in resolving production issues.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of backend experience in a SaaS environment, expertise in Ruby on Rails, strong database system knowledge, and the ability to lead conversations on design and architecture.
Requirements:
10+ years of backend experience with a focus on SaaS, particularly using technology similar to Ruby on Rails.
Proven success in software engineering, including feature and platform architecture decisions, code writing, and product building.
Strong experience in a top-level database system, preferably PostgreSQL.
Ability to work collaboratively with software engineers, lead design and architecture discussions, and express and defend opinions effectively.
