Description:

Versapay is seeking a Software Architect to join their remote engineering team.
The role involves designing and coding scalable and high-performance software.
The Software Architect will report to the VP of Engineering and Chief Architect.
Responsibilities include participating in innovation research tracks like AI/ML and developing unified/enterprise product architecture.
The position emphasizes cloud scale performance and scalability roadmap enhancements.
The architect will also coach and mentor fellow engineers.
Key tasks include designing, developing, and testing product features, maintaining architecture principles, and addressing performance and data integrity concerns.
Collaboration with product managers, customer care, DevOps, and other engineers is essential.
The architect will lead research and development efforts to ensure scalability and reliability.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a background in computer science engineering with at least 7 years of software engineering experience.
Experience in writing enterprise scale software in an agile test-driven culture is required.
Proficiency in Ruby/Rails/Sinatra is a significant plus.
Strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and various programming languages (e.g., Ruby, Java, Python, C#) is necessary.
Familiarity with databases (e.g., Postgres, Oracle, SQLServer) and operating systems (e.g., Mac, Windows, *nix) is expected.
Experience with benchmarking tools and techniques is important.
Candidates should have demonstrated experience leveraging LLMs and LLM cloud providers for productivity.
Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential for socializing ideas and gaining buy-in.
Excellent organizational skills and a strong work ethic are required.
Proactiveness and curiosity in problem-solving are necessary traits.
Experience in the Payments Industry and/or PCI/DSS is preferred.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $170,000 - $190,000 per year.
