The company serves a 105 billion dollar US local restaurant business and is headquartered in NYC and Tel-Aviv.
The team consists of seasoned tech, sales, marketing, product, and operations executives with decades of restaurant tech experience.
The company is looking for a senior level architect to join their R&D team remotely, reporting to either the CTO or VP of R&D.
Responsibilities include re-architecting the system to simplify dependencies and improve scalability, maintainability, and reliability.
The role involves defining and enforcing architectural principles, documenting the current architecture, and proposing structured improvements.
The architect will evaluate new projects for architectural alignment and guide engineering teams on architectural decisions.
Establishing design reviews, architectural governance processes, and technical standards is also part of the job.
The position requires leading technical discussions, identifying performance optimization strategies, and tracking architecture KPIs.
The architect will implement the vision of the CTO and VP of R&D into the software architecture.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 10+ years of software development experience, with at least 3+ years in an architect or similar role.
Strong expertise in .NET (C#) backend development, microservices architecture, and distributed systems is required.
Proven experience in re-architecting complex systems and optimizing performance is essential.
Hands-on experience with API design, service orchestration, event-driven architectures, and domain-driven design (DDD) is necessary.
A deep understanding of scalability, security, high availability, and observability in cloud-based environments (Azure/GCP) is required.
Candidates should be able to analyze and document existing architecture and design future-state architecture.
Strong communication skills are needed to collaborate effectively with engineering teams, leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Pulumi) is important.
Proven experience with e-commerce or adjacent fields projects is preferred.
Experience with backend monitoring and performance measurement tools is necessary.
A passion for great designs, code quality, user experience, and performance is essential.
