Description:
The Software Developer on the API team is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs using C# and the .NET framework.
This role involves assisting with technical design, code construction, technical team growth, bug resolution, and environment support.
The developer will craft new and maintain existing web applications that interact with APIs and work with complex datasets.
Responsibilities include collaborating with product managers, front-end developers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective API solutions.
The developer will write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
They will develop integration solutions with internal and external systems and participate in architectural and design discussions to ensure APIs align with business goals.
The role requires assessing the feasibility of design and project parameters within time and cost constraints.
The developer will develop and execute unit tests and integration tests to ensure API reliability and performance.
Participation in code reviews and adopting continuous integration practices to maintain high-quality code standards is expected.
The developer will monitor API performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise, maintaining up-to-date API documentation using tools such as Swagger/WebAPI/OpenAPI.
Ongoing support and enhancements for existing APIs are part of the responsibilities.
The role includes designing data models and database schemas for specific application areas and collaborating with systems analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems to support required applications.
Supervisory responsibilities include collaboration, mentoring team members, enabling opportunities for individual technical growth, and strengthening the team.
The developer must be able to work the 2nd shift (3 PM to 12 midnight), Mondays to Fridays.
Effective verbal and written English communication skills are required.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is required.
At least five years of experience as a software developer or engineer is required.
A minimum of five years of experience with C# and .NET web apps and RESTful APIs is necessary.
Proven experience in API development using C# is essential.
Experience with Azure cloud services, Azure Service Bus, ADB2C, and Azure AKS is required.
Knowledge of microservices architecture and modern API security practices (OAuth, JWT, etc.) is necessary.
Understanding of asynchronous programming and performance tuning is required.
Experience working with SQL Server and writing queries for relational databases is essential.
A strong understanding of RESTful architecture and API design principles is required.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines is necessary.
Familiarity with relational databases (SQL Server, etc.) and designing efficient queries is required.
Experience with Salesforce integration is preferred.
Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is necessary.
Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar systems is required.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines are essential.
Extensive knowledge of coding languages and systems is required.
The ability to participate in Agile sprinting and ceremonies is necessary.
