Description:

  • The Software Developer will be part of TextNow's Backend Platform team, utilizing technologies like AWS, Golang, gRPC, micro-services architecture, high-performing databases, streaming, and queueing.
  • Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend services to ensure high performance and reliability.
  • Tasks involve developing and maintaining core backend services, maintaining code quality, participating in on-call rotations, organizing technical project details, and collaborating with other backend developers.
  • The ideal candidate will be a creator of efficient solutions at scale, a brilliant collaborator, decisive, takes ownership, respectfully candid, a self-starter, resourceful, and a versatile technologist.
  • Requirements include experience with API services, infrastructure as code tooling, design principles for scalable architectures, relational/nonrelational databases, and CI build platforms.
  • Nice to have skills include familiarity with event processing, CI build platforms, telecommunication, legacy stack migration, and Kafka for event processing.

Requirements:

  • Experience developing API services with gRPC or REST
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code tooling (Terraform, Kubernetes, or others)
  • Ability to apply design principles and methodologies for building scalable and high-performance backend architectures
  • Experience using relational or nonrelational database technology (MariaDB, RDS, DynamoDB, Redis)
  • Familiarity with CI build platforms (GitHub Actions or similar)
