Description:

Alliance Enterprises is hiring an experienced Software Developer II to join their Research and Development team in the US.
The successful candidate will have at least 3+ years of recent experience in software development in a business environment, including web development, web applications, and web services.
The Software Developer II will perform routine and moderate to highly complex computer programming work, which includes carrying out or coordinating programming projects, analyzing proposed applications, and designing software solutions.
The role may involve mentoring other developers and will be performed under limited supervision, allowing for some initiative and independent judgment.
The position is remote, allowing candidates to be based anywhere in the US.
Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting support issues of a proprietary case management system, writing code that adheres to Alliance’s principles of code readability, contributing to technical designs, developing and updating coding standards, researching and applying findings to code, evaluating and correcting bugs, and participating in code reviews and pull requests.

Requirements:

Proficient with programming languages and tools appropriate to the team and its projects.
Understanding of Object-Oriented-Design concepts and development patterns.
Ability to plan, manage, and track own work effectively.
Willingness to learn and take on new challenges; self-directed and highly motivated.
Skilled in problem-solving, critical thinking, and processing information logically.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent years of experience is required.
A minimum of 3+ years of experience in software development in a business environment, including web development, web applications, and web services is necessary.
Experience creating and reviewing technical designs for large and complex features is required.
Experience conducting code reviews for performance, standards, and quality is also necessary.
Experience with case management systems, financial management systems, and/or governmental database management systems is highly desirable.
Candidates must be fluent in English, both written and verbal, and legally authorized to work in the US.
No travel is required for this position.
Physical requirements include prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, operation of a computer and typical office machinery, and the ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
