The Private Cloud (PVC) Engineering team at Rackspace Technology is seeking talented full stack developers who are passionate about modern web development standards.
As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will use initiative and standard programming practices to ensure the stability and security of Rackspace’s automated solutions.
You will provide a high level of technical support through the ownership of complex automations that enhance service to both internal and external customers.
The role involves applying creative problem-solving techniques to identify the source of problems while keeping customers informed throughout the process.
You will be responsible for adhering to company security policies and procedures, as well as other relevant policies and standards.
The position requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in your job discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines.
You will solve complex problems independently with minimal guidance and may lead projects or project steps within broader initiatives.
Mentoring junior developers and collaborating with colleagues across business units is expected.

Requirements:

Strong knowledge of network fundamentals, including diagnostics with OS system tools, server DNS, SMTP, and TCP/IP.
Proficiency in DNS diagnostics with system tools and experience with Docker in a production environment.
Development competency in JavaScript, React, Ruby, Python, and Go.
Familiarity with developer supporting tools such as various version control systems (GitHub, Git, etc.).
Strong knowledge of automation tools like Ansible and Terraform, as well as CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Travis, etc.).
Understanding of project management and Agile methodologies.
Experience with data analytics tools such as NewRelic, Datadog, and Splunk.
Strong understanding of services and protocols commonly used in hosting environments, including web servers, database servers, mail servers, name servers, and firewalls.
In-depth knowledge of current and emerging network software and hardware technology and protocols.
Ability to analyze issues using a systems thinking approach and implement holistic solutions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying technical and non-technical information effectively.
