Description:
cFocus Software is seeking a Software Developer III to join their program supporting the EPA in Washington, DC.
This position offers remote capabilities and requires an active Public Trust clearance.
The role involves designing and developing RCRAInfo national reports using EPA-approved tools such as Oracle 19c and Jasper Reports.
Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive requirements analyses and participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
The developer will create business case documents, including feasibility studies and high-level business requirements analyses.
Best development methodologies will be utilized to meet project goals effectively.
The position requires integrating Agency and shared services into system designs.
The developer will also develop and maintain reusable and adaptable test databases and procedures using automated testing tools like Sahi Pro.
Independent unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing of system changes will be conducted.
The role includes identifying, analyzing, and mitigating risks associated with new software development efforts.
The developer will lead facilitated user sessions to collect and analyze software requirements.
Complex applications will be developed in a multi-platform environment using object-oriented programming.
The position involves creating and evaluating software application prototypes and designing front-end user interfaces.
Usability analysis and assessments will be conducted to ensure compliance with 508 accessibility regulations.
The developer will create web training modules using LearningZen for the RCRAInfo User Community and coordinate with the EPA for appropriate format and functionality.
Recorded videos for the LearningZen online training website will be produced.
Detailed design documents will be developed, and source code and configuration files will be managed.
Version control systems like Bitbucket will be utilized for code management and deployment.
The developer will mentor junior developers and contribute to improving development processes.
Staying updated on the latest software development trends, tools, and best practices is essential.
Effective collaboration with EPA personnel, team members, and stakeholders is required.
The developer must ensure high-quality, bug-free code before releasing it to the Preproduction environment.
Participation in code reviews and maintaining coding standards is expected.
Continuous improvement of development and testing processes will be contributed to.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.
A Master's degree is preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development is required.
At least 3 years of experience with Oracle databases and web-based reporting tools is necessary.
A minimum of 2 years of experience with automated testing tools, such as Sahi Pro, is required.
At least 2 years of experience developing online training modules is necessary.
An Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification is required.
An AWS Certified Developer - Associate certification is required.
A Certified Scrum Developer (CSD) certification is preferred.
