Remote Software Developer - Sr.

Description:

• Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is looking for an experienced Senior Software Developer to support a new task order related to an earthquake early warning system.
• The ideal candidate should have expertise in DevOps tools/technologies, working in a Linux environment, and using databases like MySQL/Oracle/PostgreSQL.
• Proficiency in coding languages such as Python and Java is required for automation, monitoring, and performance tuning of servers/software.
• The candidate will report to the Project Manager, providing weekly updates on project status, issues, concerns, and mitigation strategies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 6-8 years of experience with programming/scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, JSON, YAML) and Linux OS.
• Familiarity with Docker/Containers, Ansible configuration management tools, and relational databases (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Solid understanding of math, physics, or geophysics.
• Proficiency in source code management tools like GitLab.
• Ability to learn new programming languages as required.
• Must be a US Citizen or Authorized to Work in the United States.
• Ability to obtain and retain a Public Trust clearance.
