Description:
Mapbox is seeking a Software Development Engineer II (Big Data) for their HD Maps team in Poland.
The role involves leading the initiation, design, and building of the product roadmap for algorithmic stages within cloud applications.
Responsibilities include coding and developing algorithmic stages using technologies such as Python, SQL, AWS, and Spark, ensuring high scalability.
The engineer will collaborate with multiple R&D teams to integrate analytics solutions into mapping products.
The position requires close work with engineering teams to align product development with strategic objectives.
Direct communication with customers, including automotive OEMs in the EU, US, Japan, and China, as well as suppliers like automotive Tier 1 companies and mapping firms, is essential.
Collaboration with business development teams is necessary to ensure the product roadmap aligns with customer needs and market trends.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related field is required.
Proficiency in Python or other programming languages commonly used in data analysis and cloud application development is necessary.
Experience in deploying algorithms within scalable cloud applications like AWS and Spark is essential.
Familiarity with data visualization libraries (e.g., Matplotlib, Plotly, D3.js) to effectively communicate insights is required.
Strong problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail are important.
Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams are necessary.
