Description:
Mapbox is seeking a Software Development Engineer II with expertise in C++ to join the Navigation team.
The role involves contributing to improving the routing experience by enhancing traffic data flow in terms of stability, speed, scalability, observability, extensibility, and cost-effectiveness.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing scalable services for the API and routing engine tiers, conducting experiments to assess product quality and capacity requirements, participating in feature implementation, code reviews, and feature releases, and collaborating with various teams to drive product direction.
The position offers high visibility within the company, providing opportunities for collaboration across different departments.
Requirements:
Strong proficiency in engineering web services with at least 3 years of experience, preferably with Rust, C++, or Node.
Experience in building highly-available API services in container-based environments like Docker, ECS, Fargate, Kubernetes on AWS, implementing service monitoring, incident triaging, issue resolution, and continuous product improvement.
Knowledge of operating systems and distributed systems, system architecture, algorithms, data structures, and performance profiling.
Ability to work effectively in a team, strong communication skills in English, enthusiasm for learning, and knowledge sharing.
Passion for programming, focus on quality, and implementation of automated tests.
