Description:

Mapbox is seeking a Software Development Engineer II specializing in C++ for Automotive Integration in Helsinki.
The Automotive Integration team is responsible for onboarding new automotive customers, integrating their embedded platforms with Mapbox's product offerings, implementing custom solutions, and providing post-launch technical support.
The team monitors product quality through key performance indicators (KPIs) collected from automotive customers' hardware and fine-tunes products for optimal SDK usage.
The role involves developing software for complex automotive navigation systems on Android and Linux Embedded platforms.
Responsibilities include understanding automotive solution requirements, writing clean and efficient code, fine-tuning navigation experiences, collaborating with technical counterparts, investigating technical issues, and improving product performance and stability.

Requirements:

Candidates must have broad experience in software development and customer engagements.
A strong passion for programming with a focus on performance is essential.
Experience with automotive compliance standards is required.
Proficiency in automotive operating systems such as AGL, AOSP, and Android Automotive is necessary.
Strong programming skills in C++, Java, and Kotlin are required, along with scripting languages like Shell Script, JavaScript, and Python.
Familiarity with build systems such as CMake, Gradle, and Ninja is needed.
Experience with orchestration environments like Yocto and Docker is important.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with distributed teams and customers are essential, with fluency in English required.
Experience in building frameworks and developer tools is preferred.
