Description:

• The Software Development Engineer II will be part of the Navigation SDK Core team at Mapbox, contributing to the development of navigation components and APIs.
• The role involves working on core navigation functionality such as routing, guidance, and voice controls using C++ for performance and flexibility.
• Responsibilities include writing clean, fast code, contributing to SDK architecture, collaborating with internal teams, and improving product performance and stability.
• The position requires working on mobile and embedded systems to enhance navigation experiences for customers like BMW, Rivian, GM, Toyota, Doordash, and Instacart.

Requirements:

• Broad experience in software development is essential for this role.
• Strong proficiency in C++ with a good understanding of the language specification and standard libraries is required.
• Passion for programming, focusing on performance aspects, and the ability to write cross-platform code are important traits.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with distributed teams in English are necessary.
• Experience with building frameworks, developer tools, native Android mobile development, scripting programming, embedded platforms, and Qt are beneficial but not mandatory.
