Description:

The Software Development Engineer II will be part of the Navigation SDK Core team at Mapbox, contributing to the development of navigation components and APIs.
The role involves working on core navigation functionality such as routing, guidance, and voice controls using C++ for performance and flexibility.
Responsibilities include writing clean, fast code, contributing to SDK architecture, collaborating with internal teams, and improving product performance and stability.
The position requires working on mobile and embedded systems to enhance navigation experiences for customers like BMW, Rivian, GM, Toyota, Doordash, and Instacart.

Requirements:

Broad experience in software development is essential for this role.
Strong proficiency in C++ with a good understanding of the language specification and standard libraries is required.
Passion for programming, focusing on performance aspects, and the ability to write cross-platform code are important traits.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with distributed teams in English are necessary.
Experience with building frameworks, developer tools, native Android mobile development, scripting programming, embedded platforms, and Qt are beneficial but not mandatory.
