The Cloud Platform team ensures seamless Continuous Integration and Delivery and reliable API Infrastructure, supported by AWS operations expertise.
The team supports over 300 Mapbox Engineers across various countries, including North America, UK, Germany, Finland, Japan, Poland, and Minsk.
The Cloud Platform is divided into two sub-teams: API Infrastructure and Orchestration, each with distinct responsibilities and tech stacks.
The role of Software Development Engineer III (SDEIII) involves building internal developer tools and services to enhance the Mapbox Platform.
Responsibilities include leading the migration to a multi-account AWS environment, supporting engineers with scalable infrastructure, influencing Cloud Platform strategy, and maintaining an observability platform.
The position promotes operational excellence through testing, monitoring, and being on-call for service health.
The SDEIII will document work processes and lead discussions, fostering a culture of collaboration and transparency.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 8-10+ years of relevant industry engineering experience.
Experience in large-scale, complex AWS multi-account architecture is required.
A passion for developing internal tools and infrastructure for Mapbox Engineers is essential.
Proven ability to design and develop secure and efficient infrastructure on AWS is necessary.
Familiarity with the tech stack, including NodeJS, TypeScript, Terraform, and various AWS services, is required.
A track record of building secure self-service tools for developers with a customer-driven mindset is important.
Candidates should have a desire to share expertise through documentation and mentorship.
