Description:

  • The Software Engineer position at Rivian is a remote, contracted, entry-level role based in Salem, Oregon.
  • The role involves owning, monitoring, and assisting with Service Now Slack escalation queues.
  • The engineer will provide trusted support and escalation for technical issues.
  • Responsibilities include collaborating with users to ensure consistent performance and supporting Rivian’s Slack and collaboration workspaces.
  • The position requires maintaining Rivian’s Slack Enterprise Environment and custom Slack applications while enforcing best practices and standards.
  • The engineer is expected to think creatively and document knowledge base articles for service desk and end users.
  • Identifying and communicating gaps between current and desired end states is part of the job.
  • The role includes assisting with delivery management processes and enforcement.
  • The engineer will schedule and lead ad-hoc demos and training for Slack, custom Slack apps, workflows, and other digital workplace tools.
  • Communication and collaboration with internal and external teams are essential.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 2+ years of in-depth, hands-on experience with SaaS and Slack, and the ability to support third-party add-ons such as M365, Zoom, Jira, Confluence, Lucid Chart, and Lucid Spark.
  • Slack Admin or Slack Developer Certifications are preferred.
  • A process-oriented mindset and experience enabling enterprise-level processes using digital workplace tools, specifically Slack Admin, Slack Workflows, Slack Forms, and Slack Apps and APIs, are required.
  • Experience configuring and supporting integration using development tools like Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, and Postman is necessary.
  • Candidates should have a conceptual and practical understanding of SDLC, ITIL, and Agile Frameworks.
  • A technical understanding of common networking terms and tools is required.
  • Previous experience in a dynamic and agile environment is essential.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal guidance and manage multiple clients and deliverables through effective time management and planning is necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Candidates should possess a strong executive presence, facilitation skills, a drive for results, attention to quality and detail, and a collaborative attitude.
  • A good work ethic and the ability to work with diverse teams across different time zones are essential.
  • The ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Extensive experience administering Atlassian products is a plus.
