Description:
Mediaocean is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join the Flashtalking Engineering organization, specifically within the Ad Serving team.
The team is responsible for maintaining high-revenue generating applications that handle billions of requests daily.
The role involves developing, managing, and scaling mission-critical applications relied upon by large global clients.
Responsibilities include documenting, planning, and executing small-to-medium scale projects with minimal supervision.
The engineer will work closely with the team to review code and share best practices.
Attention to detail, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills are essential.
The position requires the ability to work across multiple projects that may involve different languages and technologies.
The engineer will identify areas for improvement and mitigate risks in various scenarios.
Maintaining documentation for the internal knowledge base is also a key responsibility.
Participation in an on-call rotation for applications, systems, and infrastructure is required.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in software engineering, SDLC principles, and version control (Git).
A proven track record of development in JVM-based languages such as Java and Kotlin is required.
Familiarity with tooling and frameworks surrounding the JVM-based ecosystem, including compilation and package management, is necessary.
A strong understanding of design patterns is essential.
Experience with RESTful services and scalable, load-balanced HTTP architecture is required.
Candidates should have ownership experience of in-house application projects from inception to decommissioning.
Working proficiency in other languages such as Go and PHP is preferred.
Knowledge of containerization platforms such as Docker is required.
Familiarity with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins is necessary.
Candidates should have working knowledge of AWS services, SQL, and NoSQL.
Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code tools, such as Terraform, is required.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
The ability to work in a remote, distributed team is necessary.
Candidates must demonstrate strong troubleshooting, debugging, and application optimization skills.
Adaptability in a dynamic work environment is required.
