Description:

The Software Engineer role involves creating educational experiences for young people and educators, contributing to products like the projects site, Code Club platform, Astro Pi, and Coolest Projects.

The position is within a supportive, collaborative, and agile team, including Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Product Designers, and fellow Software Engineers.

Requirements:
Candidates must have demonstrable experience as a professional Software Engineer focused on web technologies or relevant experience transitioning into Software Engineering through education or bootcamps.
A proactive, pragmatic, and supportive attitude is essential, along with the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.
Experience with high-level programming languages such as Ruby, JavaScript, or Python, and familiarity with database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB is required.
A product mindset and the ability to see the bigger picture are necessary for this role.
Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, are needed to work effectively in a cross-disciplinary team.
An interest in education, particularly in computer science, physical computing, and digital making, is important.
Knowledge of managing infrastructure on platforms such as Heroku, Cloudflare, and AWS is preferred.
