As a Software Engineer, you will work in small, cross-functional XP teams to build production applications using Elixir or other modern programming languages.
You will pair program with other engineers and collaborate closely with product managers and designers.
The role involves applying and evolving XP engineering practices such as pair programming, test-driven development, refactoring, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
You will operate and support production applications as part of an agile DevOps team.
The position includes onboarding client developers and new team members with relevant practices and techniques.
You will lead and collaborate on technical discovery efforts for existing customer systems, including legacy applications.
Continuous learning about emerging technologies and practices is encouraged, along with fostering organizational growth through mentorship and tech talks.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have experience as a software engineer in a professional, team-based environment.
A demonstrated passion for XP practices such as pair programming and test-driven development is preferred.
Candidates should be comfortable as full stack developers and have expertise in at least one modern programming language and application framework.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for working closely with the development team, customers, and others at Mechanical Orchard.
