Description:

Baton is a marketplace for buying and selling small businesses, guiding owners through the selling process.
The ideal candidate is diligent, customer-focused, accountable, and has a bias for action, raising the bar for the team.
The role involves working closely with the Head of Design, Head of Engineering, and the engineering team to develop high-quality product solutions.
The tech stack includes Remix, NextJS, GraphQL, and Typescript on the frontend, Golang on the backend, and Python and DuckDB for data pipelines, all orchestrated by Prefect.
Services run on AWS, powered by Docker and Terraform, with databases on PostgreSQL.
Daily responsibilities include partnering with design and engineering teams to build frontend components, API services, and data pipelines, discussing features to ensure impactful products, and reporting to the Head of Engineering.

Requirements:

The candidate should have 1 to 2 years of experience in software development in a SaaS or fintech startup environment.
A working knowledge of at least one interpreted language (such as Python or JavaScript) and at least one compiled typed language (such as Golang) is required.
Strong communication skills are necessary to convey complex ideas and build cross-functional relationships.
A growth mindset is essential, with a desire to improve skills and seek feedback, contributing to product discussions.
A passion for supporting small business owners and transforming the buying and selling process is important.
