Description:
The Software Engineer will be part of the NBCUniversal Operations & Technology, Video Platforms - Content Services group, responsible for designing, implementing, and operating services for content processing and delivery.
The role involves participating in the development of a large microservices-based system in a collaborative and distributed team environment.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and delivering software using Node.js, Serverless, and AWS Lambda, participating in code reviews and design discussions, resolving issues in various environments, and adapting to dynamic business requirements.
The position requires close collaboration with other Software Engineers and Software Quality Engineers in an Agile/Scrum setting.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent with at least 3 years of experience in the field.
Experience in building scalable, high-volume services and hands-on development with Node.js and Serverless applications.
Proficiency in AWS cloud infrastructure and services like Lambda, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, and working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Desired characteristics include experience with Java microservices, Spring Boot, relational and NoSQL databases, AWS Kinesis, Continuous Integration workflow, and digital media and video transcoding knowledge.
