Remote Software Engineer

Description:

• NBCUniversal is looking for a motivated and skilled Software Engineer to join the Corporate Technology team.
• The ideal candidate should have experience with React or AngularJS, Express or Node, and a passion for modernizing legacy applications.
• Responsibilities include implementing and maintaining web applications for NBCUniversal employees, focusing on modernizing the software portfolio.
• The role involves collaborating with engineering, architecture, and product leaders to provide technical solutions aligned with business needs.
• This position is within the HR Workforce Team, serving HR Operations in the Operations & Technology department.
• The role primarily involves working on an internal-facing application for NBC Universal employees to manage pay stubs, withholding, HR tools, and more through a hybrid portal/administration tool.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of professional experience in developing web applications.
• Proficiency in modern frameworks and JavaScript-first web solutions.
• Ability to problem-solve technical issues and effectively communicate root causes.
• Experience working well within a team environment.
• Familiarity with Node.js or Express and proficiency with AWS.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in CS or a related field (desired).
• Comfort with Agile development methodologies and remote work.
• Experience with widely distributed teams and effective documentation via JIRA.
