Remote Software Engineer - Accessibility & UI

Description:

• FranklinCovey, a global leadership company, is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in accessibility and UI to join their Corporate Platform Development team.
• The role involves collaborating with product, design, data, and content teams to build a modern learning platform focusing on performance, scalability, and accessibility.
• The Software Engineer will be responsible for shipping testable, readable, and maintainable code, participating in product development processes, and ensuring software accessibility according to WCAG guidelines.
• The position requires a focus on frontend technologies like React and JavaScript, with opportunities for full-stack work as needed.
• Additional responsibilities include architecting systems for user scale, improving team knowledge through code reviews and presentations, and advocating for accessible design and development practices.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
• Experience with accessibility testing tools and techniques such as screen readers, color contrast analyzers, and keyboard navigation testing.
• Strong focus on frontend, accessible development.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• Demonstrated experience in implementing accessible design and development practices to ensure usability for people with diverse abilities.
• Proven track record of working with accessibility vendors and integrating accessibility features into existing systems.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Familiarity with Python and Django.
