Description:

Figma is seeking a passionate AI Product Engineer to enhance user experience through the development of early-phase AI systems.
The role involves collaborating with a cutting-edge AI Research team to raise the ceiling of design possibilities and lower the barriers for designers.
Responsibilities include leading the development of AI systems, measuring and improving AI performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams of software engineers, product managers, and data scientists.
The engineer will break down complex AI problems into engineering strategies using machine learning, data analysis, and experimental design.
Mentorship and promoting best practices in data and AI are key aspects of the role, along with improving the hiring process to recruit outstanding AI talent.
This is a full-time position that can be performed remotely or from one of Figma's US hubs.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of experience, including at least 1 year of developing generative AI products.
Comfort in prototyping and exploring new opportunities that lead to successful 0→1 projects is essential.
Proven experience in the full lifecycle of early-phase AI development, from ideation to production and maintenance, is required.
Candidates should have deep product and business knowledge to connect modeling and analysis tasks with business value.
A growth mindset and experience in mentoring and developing peers is necessary.
