Remote Software Engineer (AI Services)

Description:

• Phaidra is focused on building AI-powered control systems for the industrial sector, enabling facilities to learn and improve over time.
• The Software Engineer (AI Services) will be part of the Data Platform team, responsible for building streaming and batch components for data ingestion and processing.
• The role involves designing and implementing significant parts of the code base, contributing to the backend by writing REST and gRPC API services, and optimizing data storage systems.
• The position requires collaboration across various engineering disciplines, including Software Engineering, Distributed Systems, Machine Learning, MLOps, and DevOps.
• The onboarding process includes a structured introduction to Phaidra, its product, and the engineering organization, with specific milestones to achieve in the first 30, 60, and 90 days.
• The role is remote, with specific location requirements in the USA, Canada, and select European countries.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 4+ years of work experience and a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• Experience in production Software Engineering, including relational and non-relational data modeling and micro-services, is required.
• Candidates should have experience operating and monitoring services in production, using observability tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• A strong alignment with Phaidra's values of curiosity, ownership, transparency, and customer empathy is essential.
• Bonus qualifications include experience with scalable data platforms, containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, and knowledge of Machine Learning concepts.
