Description:

The API Platform team at Sift is responsible for core functions of the Digital Trust & Safety platform, including scoring, routing, and reporting on business metrics.
The team focuses on building a seamless solution for identifying and stopping fraud at scale using customizable tools and powerful infrastructure.
As a Software Engineer, you will build highly scalable, distributed services capable of handling hundreds of millions of events per day.
You will partner with product management to scope and shape project requirements and implement engineering solutions to meet complex customer needs at scale.
Collaboration with other engineers within the API Platform team and across other engineering teams is essential.
You will help evolve and improve engineering practices and document solutions through developing documentation, flowcharts, diagrams, and maintaining good code hygiene.
Technologies used include Java, GCP (Pub/Sub, Dataflow, BigTable, BigQuery, Kubernetes), Kafka, DropWizard, Postgres, Redis, and gRPC.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree in computer science, math, engineering, hard science(s), or comparable industry experience is required.
Strong knowledge of data structures, distributed algorithms, and asynchronous architectures is necessary.
Experience in designing and maintaining scalable public APIs is essential.
Extensive experience with large-scale NoSQL databases such as Bigtable, HBase, or Cassandra is required.
Familiarity with cloud setup, management, and deployment (e.g., AWS/GCP) is needed.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are important, with a belief that team output is more important than individual output.
