Description:

  • Sequential/Oberheim is seeking a full-time Software Engineer to develop C/C++ code for embedded systems, primarily based around ARM and SHARC cores.
  • The role is remote but must be US-based, with a preference for candidates in West Coast time zones.
  • The salary ranges from $125,000 to $250,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with excellent benefits.
  • Key responsibilities include developing microprocessor code for synthesizer products, implementing user input and display elements, ensuring quality through testing, collaborating with hardware engineers, optimizing code, and designing production test software.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages is required, with Python scripting being a plus.
  • A strong understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems architecture is necessary, with Zephyr experience being advantageous.
  • Ideally, candidates should have experience with MIDI, subtractive synthesis, digital signal processing (DSP), and audio algorithms.
  • Familiarity with hardware interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, and GPIO is an advantage.
  • Experience with ARM and/or SHARC microcontrollers is preferred.
  • Candidates should possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in embedded software development, preferably in the audio or music technology industry, is required.
  • A passion for music and knowledge of synthesizers is a significant plus, as it allows for contributions to product concepts and designs.
