The role of Software Engineer involves working closely with peers, product, design, and leadership to build products and features for the Deputy platform.
Responsibilities include solving complex customer-facing problems, designing and implementing software solutions, and ensuring the quality of work through thorough testing.
The engineer will collaborate with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders to determine requirements and deliver solutions.
The position requires writing efficient, self-documented code and providing coaching to junior team members.
The engineer will engage in technical discussions and process improvements through various collaborative methods.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 3+ years of related work experience and a passion for quality.
A customer-obsessed mindset is essential, focusing on delivering the best possible experience for customers.
A demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality, scalable, and fault-tolerant software systems is required.
Strong computer science fundamentals, particularly in algorithms and data structures, are necessary.
Candidates should be programming language agnostic with experience in Golang, PHP, and Javascript.
Expertise in API design (REST & RPC) and frameworks such as protobuf, gRPC, and OpenAPI is required.
Experience with service-oriented architecture, microservices, and tools like Docker, ECS, Lambda, SQS, and Kinesis is necessary.
Familiarity with various persistence, storage, and caching mechanisms, including MySQL, Redis, DynamoDB, and S3, is required.
Experience in embedding third-party software solutions into platforms for a seamless user experience is essential.
Candidates should build systems with appropriate monitoring and observability, employing best practices for fault tolerance.
Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $108,000 - $121,500 a year, considering multiple factors such as market factors, experience, and skills.
