Basetwo is on a mission to make manufacturing more resilient by providing a low code AI platform for manufacturing engineers.
The platform helps engineers troubleshoot and optimize production processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
As a Backend Software Engineer, you will work closely with product, data, and design teams to enhance user experience and implement solutions in a modular and scalable manner.
Your responsibilities will include designing and building data models, services, and APIs for the Basetwo platform while balancing developer experience, scaling, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
You will take full ownership of building, shipping, and maintaining core features of Basetwo for maximum customer and business impact.
The role involves working at all levels of the stack with a focus on backend development.
You will also build tools to automate processes and increase team productivity, while advocating for best practices among other engineers.

Requirements:

You must care about the user, strive to understand their needs, and build tools to solve their problems.
You should be adaptable to changing project needs typical of a startup environment and enjoy tackling new problems.
A minimum of 3 years of industry experience in backend engineering or as a software engineering generalist is required, along with strong communication skills.
A strong foundation in API design, distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, and backend implementation is essential.
You must have production experience with SQL and database design, particularly using PostgreSQL or similar databases.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS is required.
A strong background in computer science fundamentals and a degree in Computer Science or a related field is necessary.
You should possess a strong sense of ownership and focus on long-term usability and extensibility.
