Remote Software Engineer, Backend

Description:

• Virta Health is seeking a Software Engineer, Backend to join their team remotely.
• The company is focused on reversing obesity and type 2 diabetes through individualized nutrition and ongoing clinical support.
• The role involves building Virta Health’s data exchange platform, collaborating with various data partners including employers and health plans.
• Responsibilities include coding, testing, and shipping new product features while maintaining high coding standards.
• The engineer will troubleshoot, debug, and fix issues in both production and non-production environments.
• The position requires monitoring systems and performing on-call rotation support duties.
• The engineer will work cross-functionally with Product Managers and Technical Program Managers to achieve quarterly OKRs.
• Open communication and effective feedback to managers and peers are essential.
• A 90-day plan includes getting acquainted with the technology ecosystem, learning about the healthcare system, understanding product offerings, shipping the first feature, and creating OKRs.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 2-4 years of experience implementing backend systems.
• Mastery in at least one programming language is required.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a remote work setup are essential.
• A willingness to learn and adapt as business needs change is necessary.
• Knowledge of working with Postgres or relational databases is required.
• Bonus points for knowledge of working in an Agile environment and familiarity with the USA healthcare system.

Benefits:

• The starting pay for this role ranges from $122,846 to $158,654 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
