Description:

  • Human Interest is seeking a Software Engineer for Backend Engineering in Portfolio Management, focusing on ensuring access to retirement benefits for all working Americans.

  • The Portfolio Management team is responsible for managing participants' current investments (retirement funds) and developing new products and services.
  • The role involves building and maintaining software for processing and recording customers' retirement savings, improving system processes for robustness and performance, and collaborating with stakeholders.
  • Responsibilities include writing clean code, developing ownership over critical retirement workflows, making engineering tradeoff decisions, and participating in the development lifecycle activities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in building and maintaining backend software.
  • Experience in building scalable backend technologies and scaling database platforms (NoSQL, SQL).
  • Strong desire to learn, exchange feedback, and grow in technical designs and retirement domains.
  • Ability to write understandable, testable code with a focus on maintainability.
  • Proactive and empathetic mindset, willing to solve problems for customers.
  • Completed formal training in a computer science-related discipline (Bachelors or Masters preferred).
