Description:

The Backend Engineer at Soracom is responsible for building and operating backend business systems that support Soracom's services.
To provide IoT system construction services, it is necessary to not only have convenient services but also provide customers with easy-to-build pricing systems, payment methods, and user-friendly permission settings during operation.
In addition to providing features to customers, internal systems for Soracom's platform scalability, such as management consoles for customer support and systems to automate routine tasks, need to be developed.
This position specifically involves collaborating with telecommunications carriers and MNOs to find ways to utilize Soracom's technology within their businesses and initiatives.
The Backend Engineer at Soracom is involved in communication with various team members to define system specifications, build, and operate user-friendly systems from the early stages of creating new services and business frameworks.

Requirements:

System integration for providing Soracom to telecommunications carriers and MNOs.
Designing, building, and operating billing and payment systems for Soracom services provided in Japan and globally.
Designing, building, and operating internal business systems for in-house use.
Continuously improving and releasing systems based on user feedback.
Supporting Soracom's business expansion through systems.

Required Skills:

Experience in implementing business logic using Java.
Ability to understand necessary business functions, define appropriate specifications with the business side, and implement and test them.
Willingness to try and experience things hands-on.
Attitude to implement based on understanding the entire system and the libraries/frameworks used.
Business-level proficiency in Japanese.
Ability to communicate in English via text.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in infrastructure construction and operation using AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Experience in API development using Spring Boot or similar.
Experience in system construction using distributed processing frameworks like Hadoop or Spark.
Knowledge and experience in payment services or products.
Experience working in entrepreneurship or startups.
Experience related to telecom business (e.g., iSIM, eSIM).
