Description:

Rescale is a high-performance computing platform designed for the cloud, empowering engineers while ensuring IT security and control.
The company delivers HPC-as-a-Service with a secure control plane, enabling the deployment of any application on any architecture at any scale.
The position is for a systems-oriented backend engineer who will own the end-to-end delivery of essential new functionality for Rescale customers.
The engineer will engage in proactive work to assure systems performance and reliability.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining services that handle over 250 requests per second, focusing on task scheduling, security, and durability.
The engineer will collaborate with teammates to maintain high-quality automation for build, test, and deployment of software and infrastructure across multiple cloud providers and Kubernetes clusters.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 2+ years of experience in building performant, non-trivial backend systems, preferably using a statically typed, service-oriented language such as Java or Go.
A high level of enthusiasm for supporting both internal and external stakeholders is essential, particularly in delivering products that address real problems for end users.
Expertise or a strong interest in Linux internals (including namespaces and cgroups), concurrent and multi-threaded programming, distributed systems design, database durability, testing, profiling, and application security is required.
Flexibility and dedication to work collaboratively in a team environment and to ship exceptional software are necessary.
A BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.
