Description:

• The Software Engineer (Co-op) position is available for Summer 2025 in Toronto, Ontario.
• The role is part of the Engineering Team at Wave, which focuses on empowering small business owners with financial management solutions.
• The team is looking for a co-op student to help advance engineering efforts and contribute to Wave's vision and goals.
• The technology stack includes Python, Django, Ruby on Rails, Golang, and JavaScript, with a culture of exploring new technologies.
• Engineers will face meaningful challenges, write clear and well-tested code, and work in a fun and informal environment.
• Responsibilities include leading technical projects, improving skills within a small agile team, and building solutions that positively impact users.

Requirements:

• Candidates should have 2+ years of education in software development.
• Exposure to web frameworks is preferred.
• Interest in leading technical projects from inception to delivery is required.
• Ability to operate and monitor highly available systems in production, or a willingness to learn quickly, is necessary.
• A strong focus on testing and quality of workmanship is essential.
• Candidates should have curiosity about technology and pride in writing testable, modular, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Experience with web application and/or distributed systems development is preferred.
• Comfort with terminal operations is expected.
• Candidates must be currently studying Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or a related field.
