Description:

The Software Engineering Co-op Student will advance Engineering at Wave and help the organization in pursuit of its vision and goals.
The primary toolkit includes Python and Django, Ruby on Rails, and JavaScript, with opportunities to explore new technologies.
Engineers will face exciting challenges, such as scaling systems and redesigning applications.
The role involves writing clear, concise, elegant, and well-tested code in Python, Ruby, and/or JavaScript.
The position is part of a small, agile, integrated product team focused on continual improvement and learning.
The work environment is fun and informal, encouraging creativity and collaboration.
The engineer will contribute to building solutions that make the lives of small business owners easier.

Requirements:

Candidates should have 2+ years of education in software development.
Exposure to web frameworks is beneficial.
Interest in leading technical projects from inception to delivery is required.
Ability to operate and monitor highly available systems in production, or a willingness to learn quickly, is necessary.
A strong focus on testing and quality of workmanship is essential.
Candidates should have curiosity and excitement about technology as a force for good.
Pride in writing testable, modular, maintainable, simple, and well-documented code is expected.
Experience with web application and/or distributed systems development is preferred.
Comfort in using the terminal is important.
Candidates should be currently studying Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or a related field.
