Description:
The Software Engineer at Canonical will have the opportunity to work with Ubuntu and open source products, collaborating with various engineering and business teams.
Responsibilities include developing and operating Ubuntu Pro and Livepatch backend services for Extended Security Maintenance, managing Candid and JIMM for distributed systems, handling internal business operations, and maintaining Salesforce implementation.
The role involves coding in Go or Python, collaborating on technical designs, deploying and operating services, and improving engineering and operations practices.
The position is fully remote in the EMEA region.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Experience as a software developer in a high-level language, preferably Go or Python.
Experience in building, deploying, and operating distributed systems and APIs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to collaborate remotely, stay motivated, and organized in a fully remote environment.
Willingness to travel internationally 2-4 times per year for one week at a time.
