Remote Software Engineer - Contractor

Description:

• The RealReal is seeking a Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join their Seller team, responsible for facilitating consignments with the company.
• The role involves working with Elixir, Ruby, React, Typescript, GraphQL, Kafka, AWS/Lambda, PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
• The position offers the opportunity to contribute to company-wide initiatives, make technical decisions, learn new technologies, review code, pair program, and deploy user-facing code.
• The Software Engineer will report to the Engineering Manager of Seller and will be fully remote.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong communication skills.
• Understanding of reusable components and building component libraries.
• Ability to develop production-ready web applications and systems.
• Passion for testing practices and continuous improvement.
• Experience with Elixir, Erlang, Ruby, Javascript, NextJs, or another programming language.
• Familiarity with IDEs, RESTful APIs, Git repositories, TypeScript, version control software, and remote deployment tools.
• Bachelor of Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of event-based architectures, database fundamentals, and GraphQL.
• Enthusiasm for solving problems with technology and interest in retail/e-commerce and sustainability.
