Remote Software Engineer, Core

Description:

• The Core team at dbt Labs is responsible for developing and delivering the core open-source technology (dbt-core) that is used within the Cloud product.
• The successful candidate will lead the technical design and implementation of major software components, systems, and features across teams.
• Responsibilities include applying technical experience in performance, architecture, interfaces, and engineering best practices.
• The role involves building a culture of quality and innovation, leading cross-team collaboration, and executing projects that deliver high value to customers.
• Other duties include designing, developing, testing, deploying, monitoring, and improving software.
• The position requires managing trade-offs, priorities, and deliverables, as well as supporting the career development of team members through mentorship and coaching.

Requirements:

• Must have at least 3 years of experience as a software engineer.
• Minimum requirement of a Bachelor's degree in a related field (computer science, computer engineering, etc.) OR completed enrollment in an engineering-related bootcamp.
• Strong fundamentals in various software development paradigms (e.g., object-oriented, functional) are necessary.
• Ability to manage ambiguity, drive clarity and innovation within teams, and make trade-offs to ship useful features without sacrificing long-term quality.
• Value interacting with end users, understanding their needs, and building alignment across stakeholders.
