Remote Software Engineer, Core Applications

Description:

• NetBox Labs is seeking a Software Engineer with over 5 years of experience to enhance the delivery of key components of network automation.
• The role involves working on core applications, delivering both closed and open source software, and managing projects such as NetBox, pynetbox, NetBox Branching, and NetBox Change Management.
• Responsibilities include developing with Python and Django, building REST APIs, creating intuitive admin UIs, and applying modern software design practices.
• The position requires knowledge of CI/CD and GitHub workflows, the ability to work autonomously, and strong communication and collaboration skills.
• The engineer will collaborate closely with product owners, the Observability team, the Platform team, and community members.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have deep experience with Python and Django.
• A strong background in building REST APIs is required.
• Solid experience and interest in developing intuitive admin UIs is necessary.
• Familiarity with modern, secure software design and development practices is essential.
• Knowledge of CI/CD processes and GitHub workflows is required.
• The ability to work independently is a must.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills are necessary.
• It is preferred to have 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Experience in building full-stack applications using HTMX is a plus.
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like Alpine.js and CSS frameworks like Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS is beneficial.
• Experience with or contributions to NetBox or its plugins is advantageous.
• Experience in SaaS applications and knowledge of GraphQL is preferred.
• An understanding of IT networking, data center concepts, and the network automation ecosystem is a plus.
• Involvement in open source projects as a founder, maintainer, or key contributor is desirable.
