Remote Software Engineer

Description:

• The Software Engineer will join the software development team to design and implement a consumer-facing, high-traffic, e-commerce web platform.
• The role involves developing software solutions by identifying user and system requirements.
• The engineer will evaluate operational feasibility by analyzing problems, defining requirements, and developing proposed solutions.
• Documentation and demonstration of solutions will be required through flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
• The engineer will propose and enforce best practices for the software development lifecycle and establish coding standards for the team.
• Supporting and developing other software engineers through advice, coaching, and educational opportunities is part of the role.
• Collaboration with the team to brainstorm and create new ideas and solutions is expected.
• The engineer will design the new web platform with security considerations from the start.
• Ensuring streamlined ongoing deployment, support, and maintenance following the CI/CD process is essential.
• Technical analysis to support effective development efforts will be performed.
• The engineer will write code for key modules of the platform and design testing methodologies, including automated unit testing.
• Clear and effective communication regarding project/task status with management, development teams, and project managers is required.
• The role requires a fast-paced approach, with a bias towards action, following the cycle of coding, iterating, testing, deploying, and optimizing websites.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2-3 years of programming experience is required, including REST API, Python, Django, and VueJS.
• Excellent skills in MySQL, PostgreSQL, and ElasticSearch with hands-on experience are necessary.
• Hands-on experience in designing and architecting high-traffic consumer e-commerce websites is essential.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, Git, and Jira is required.
• Knowledge of web application security (OWASP) is necessary.
• Experience with queuing tools, such as RabbitMQ, is required.
• The candidate should have experience working with a large remote team.
• Hands-on experience with the agile development process is necessary.
• Experience working on a large-scale e-commerce platform is required.
• Hands-on experience with AWS web services is essential.
• Proficiency in CSS, JavaScript, and HTML is required.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills are necessary.
• Broad website/software/application development skills are required.
• DevOps skills are highly preferred.
