Description:

  • Dune is seeking a talented Rust Engineer to assist in building and optimizing the next generation of APIs for real-time data processing.
  • The engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-performance, real-time APIs using Rust to meet industry-leading performance and stability standards.
  • Collaboration with the team to develop new features, enhance data decoding, and improve API coverage for various blockchain data will be a key aspect of the role.
  • Performance improvements such as optimizing CPU usage, reducing latency, and implementing caching strategies for better data fetching will be a focus.
  • Exploring and implementing cutting-edge data storage solutions, stability improvements, and enhancing the robustness of real-time systems are also part of the responsibilities.
  • Contribution to the internal developer experience by enhancing local test setups, integration tests, and incremental deployment processes is expected.
  • The role involves working on one of the fastest engineering teams in the industry.

Requirements:

  • The ideal candidate should have at least 4 years of experience, including 6+ months of working with Rust.
  • Deep understanding of systems programming concepts, especially in high-performance or real-time applications, is required.
  • Familiarity with technologies like Parquet or similar and experience in optimizing data storage and retrieval processes is necessary.
  • Ability to address performance issues, optimize CPU usage, reduce latency, and implement efficient caching mechanisms is essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in distributed and real-time systems, are a must.
  • Team player with good communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with other engineers to achieve common goals.
  • Enthusiasm for exploring new ways to enhance system performance and reliability is desired.
