Remote Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure at Reddit

Description:

Reddit is seeking a Software Engineer for their Data Infrastructure team to tackle large-scale batch and streaming data challenges.
The team manages over 150B analytics events daily, ingesting them into a data warehouse with 55,000+ daily queries.
Responsibilities include refining and maintaining data infrastructure technologies for real-time analysis, owning the data pipeline, and building guardrails for data quality and governance.
The role involves software automation, monitoring/alerting for core systems, and collaborating with partner teams like machine learning and Ads.
Daily tasks include collaborating with proficient software engineers, participating in the data lifecycle, designing and delivering data solutions, implementing automation, and sharing on-call responsibilities.

Minimum 3 years of software engineering experience in a production setting with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
Proficiency in object-oriented programming languages like Scala, Python, Go, or Java.
Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing large-scale systems, monitoring project progress, and showcasing proactive leadership.
Experience with cloud services, terraform, airflow, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Flink, and modern cloud-based infrastructure.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration within a service-oriented team and broader organizational context.
