Canonical is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Data Infrastructure with a focus on Kafka.
The role involves developing managed solutions for various data stores and technologies, including big data, NoSQL, cache-layer capabilities, and analytics.
The team is working on fault-tolerant mission-critical distributed systems to deliver top-notch automation solutions for managed data platforms.
Responsibilities include collaborating with a distributed team, writing high-quality Python code, debugging issues, and interacting with upstream communities.
The position requires working from home with occasional global travel for internal and external events.

Requirements:

Proven hands-on experience in software development using Python.
Proven hands-on experience in distributed systems, specifically Kafka and Spark.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field.
Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.
