Description:

As a Software Engineer - Data Platform, you will have full ownership and responsibility for key data platform initiatives and the life cycle of data management.
Your role will include data ingestion, data processing, data storage, and querying systems, as well as cost reduction efforts to deliver product features to both internal and external Motive customers.
You will be part of a team that drives Motive’s Data Platform vision, focusing on building scalable systems and services for data ingestion, access, processing, and query.
You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders and backend product teams to improve and add features to the platform.
Your responsibilities will include designing and developing scalable distributed systems and frameworks for data management.
You will address fault-tolerance and high availability issues, scale ingestion pipelines, and improve the ETL framework while maintaining SLAs on performance, reliability, and system availability.
You will participate in all aspects of the software development life cycle, from design to implementation and delivery.

Requirements:

You must have 3+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
Proficiency in backend programming, including multi-threading and concurrency, with strong skills in Python is required.
A solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems, is essential.
You should have experience in designing, implementing, and operating highly scalable software systems and services.
Familiarity with technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, Airflow, and Kubernetes is necessary.
Experience with service-oriented architectures is required.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proven track record of implementing creative solutions are important.
Hands-on experience with containerized platforms like Docker and Kubernetes is needed.
A BS in Computer Science or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
You must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to collaborate effectively with other teams.
