Remote Software Engineer, Data Platform

Description:

• OnePay is a consumer financial services app aimed at helping people achieve financial progress.
• The company provides products such as checking and high-yield savings accounts, peer-to-peer payments, credit builder services, digital wallet solutions, and buy-now-pay-later loans.
• The Software Engineer for the Data Platform team will design, develop, and maintain data infrastructure, including data pipelines and warehouses.
• Responsibilities include implementing robust streaming and batch data pipelines, ensuring data infrastructure reliability and security, monitoring and improving data performance, and collaborating with data scientists and analysts.
• The role also involves establishing MLOps workflows and driving feature engineering for machine learning.

Requirements:

• Candidates should have 3-7 years of experience in software engineering for a data platform or a similar role.
• Expertise in Apache Spark for large-scale data processing is required.
• Advanced knowledge of production-level Python and strong SQL skills for data manipulation and ETL processes are necessary.
• Experience with real-time streaming technologies such as Kafka or Kinesis is expected.
• Familiarity with MLOps practices, including feature engineering and model serving, is preferred.
• Proficiency in Databricks, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Terraform, or AWS is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams are essential.
• An “act-like-an-owner” mentality with a bias toward taking action is desired.
