Description:

  • Warner Music Group is seeking a Software Engineer for their Data Platform team in Toronto, Ontario.
  • The role involves building a next-generation Data Platform that emphasizes freshness, accuracy, comprehensiveness, and ease of use.
  • Responsibilities include reimagining how data about artists, songwriters, and their works is stored, represented, ingested, and served.
  • The engineer will work on ingesting, processing, ETL, and serving data about music consumption across various digital platforms.
  • The Data Platform will support core business processes such as marketing optimization, performance tracking, and rights acquisition and distribution.
  • The position requires strong backend and data engineering skills, as well as hands-on management experience for those interested in leadership roles.
  • The role offers opportunities to innovate and create new products while collaborating with a dynamic team.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in backend development or data engineering is required, either through full-time positions or internships.
  • Experience in building large-scale data processing pipelines and high-availability dimensional datastores is essential.
  • For management roles, candidates should have at least 3 years of experience managing teams while remaining technically hands-on.
  • A passion for music and a desire to provide impactful data solutions are crucial.
  • Candidates should possess a high sense of ownership and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and mastery of software development is expected.
  • Strong coding skills and effective communication abilities are necessary.
