Description:

  • Timely is a company focused on improving school scheduling to save time and enhance educational quality.
  • The Software Engineer will work on advancing data integration capabilities to create tools and systems that benefit customers.
  • This role involves collaboration with data integrations engineers and the customer success team to streamline data integration processes.
  • The engineer will also work with core platform teams to enhance Timely’s system architecture and cloud infrastructure.
  • Responsibilities include generalizing data ingestion and export processes, designing new systems for scheduling data, and improving visibility and security features in the data pipeline.
  • The engineer will engage with customers to understand their data integration needs and support team growth and onboarding.

Requirements:

  • Direct experience in Education or EdTech is preferred.
  • Prior experience with school and district data, student information systems, or external APIs for data integrations is required.
  • Significant experience with modern backend programming languages and platforms, particularly Python, MongoDB, and AWS, is necessary.
  • Candidates should have a proven track record of collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to design and implement software systems that address business challenges.
  • Knowledge of software engineering workflows, tools, and best practices is essential, along with the ability to apply them appropriately.
  • Experience in mentoring, interviewing, and developing technical team members is a plus.
  • Candidates must be eager to work in an early-stage startup environment, demonstrating urgency and a willingness to take on diverse responsibilities.
  • This position is remote, with a preference for candidates located in New York City or Boston metropolitan areas.
